Individuals waiting to apply for a visa under the expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program finally have their chance.

U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services announced it will accept petitions under the broadened DACA program starting Feb. 18.

Under the new program, the deferred action period and employment authorization is extended from two to three years. People of any age who entered the U.S. when they were younger than 16, have lived in the country continuously since Jan. 1, 2010 and meet all other DACA requirements are eligible.

Previously, people had to have lived in the U.S. continuously since June 15, 2007 and been born after June 15, 1981 to apply under the program.
