San Ramon, CA – May 29, 2013 – U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Services (USCIS) continues to introduce new technology in its administrative steps and processes. The federal agency has now introduced its new 2D barcode feature to Form I-864, the Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the Act form. INSZoom.com, Inc., the world’s leading immigration technology company, has updated its system to include this new barcode functionality as well.
This new barcode is included at the bottom of every page on the I-864 immigration form. When a user enters data on the form, the barcodes automatically shift and change to reflect these data. When the completed form is submitted, USCIS scans data from the barcodes in the page footers and uploads that data into its systems. This same barcode functionality was included in Forms I-90 and G-28 in February and March 2013. Both of these forms were also updated in the INSZoom immigration case management system.
“INSZoom’s technology teams focus on making responsive updates to our immigration case management system, especially in cases in which USCIS has made substantial upgrades or administrative changes,” said Niranjan Nelamangalam, Vice President – Engineering & Development, INSZoom. “We have updated our system to reflect these new barcodes in the I-864 form, as well as Forms I-90 and G-28, to ensure our clients have access to the latest and most up-to-date forms within our system.”
Form I-864 is used by family-based immigrants and, in some instances, certain employment-based immigrants. The form establishes that the immigrant has adequate means of financial support and is not likely to rely on the U.S. government for financial support.
