As human resources departments gather government wage data to submit Labor Condition Applications for their H-1B Specialty Occupation visa petitions, they should also acquire important documentation from the potential worker.

The H-1B visa rests on the foreign workers’ credentials. Therefore, HR needs to gather documentation of their education, past work performance and any other necessary information proving their qualifications.

Starting in January, HR should use the client portal in its immigration case management program to ask for documentation from the worker. The worker can upload information directly into the case management platform, making it easy for businesses to assemble the pertinent documentation for H-1B visa applications.
